Eh, Malia, thanks for the promo, but Kawili is actually not my band, I'm just the humble guitar player. The leader is Shaun Gavigan, ex Kula, Maui, now Dublin, CA. We also have Ikaika Lancaster, ex Kohala, Island of Hawai`i, now Benicia, CA, playing `ukulele and singing harmony. Michael Keubler plays rhythm guitar and Art Sapiandante plays bass.
Two of us have studied with Patrick, one of us is a distant relative, and all of us are honored to perform at his annual holiday show and looking forward to some big fun.

This should be swell for all you guys ova da left coast. I absolutely love how Patrick does the Chipmunk Song. Also I like when he does the one about Santa, Santa, Santa, bring a hula girl for me..... And his Silent Night is about as beautiful as a song can be.
Matter of fact, we just brought up the basket of Christmas CDs (and cassettes) from the basement and the one on the top says

Aloha Fellow Slackers!
I like how she say's I'm coming out of "hibernation" Thank you for the private emails and concerns and general "where you been" messages..(btw Wanda you are funny!)
I have been enjoying and raising my growing family (3rd child due this month, I hope not on any of my concert days!)
I have (returned) my concentration on teaching slack key versus performing at this point although I am heading to North Carolina at the end of January for 3 shows..
Over the past years, I have met many of you in person, many of you I have personal relationships with though distance and timing might be an obstacle, Taropatch.net has been instrumental in getting people together and an important tool and allie to all things Slack Key. I would like to just say publicly that I am grateful and thankful to all of you who have supported slack key shows, lessons or anything in the past.
Also after seeing Fran Guidry in action recently, and Jim Kramer last night and Chris Yeaton with Keola and Dave Nye, and my friend, mentor and second father the late-Don Narup..I am extremely proud of all my students...keep up the good work!
Have a Happy Holiday and hope to see you at on of my shows!

Aloha, Patrick. It would appear that all you've been doing lately is rotating out those baby pictures on the back of your guitar. Smoooth. Best wishes on your 3rd! |

Patrick - I'll never forget when you taught at Augusta Heritage Guitar Week at Davis & Elkins College in my country, Elkins, WV (yee-ha!). Paul had pictures of our grown daughters on the back of his guitar, just like you had your two little guys! Busted me up!
Do you know if you are having another boy or maybe one pretty little keikimahine this time? Best wishes to you and your `ohana. Now we know what you have been doing instea of slacking the keys. |

Aloha Les,
I will be at Sunday's show as well. Please come and introduce yourself, I'll be the one decorating the stage and running around with my camera. The joke around here and at Ukulele Club is that most folks become familiar with my derriere as I try to get my best shots in front of the stage.

| Braddah Patrick, thanks once again for inviting us, Kawili, to participate in your annual Hawaiian Holiday Celebration this past Saturday evening. We had a good time (what an appreciative crowd) and loved the performances by you, Faith and your terrific musicians. Look forward to doing it again someday soon... |

Talk about terrific musicians! At Don Quixote's in Felton, Patrick was joined by not only Faith, but also Patti Maxine, THE Queen of Steel, fabulous Matt Bohn on Bass (he doesn't play that century-old German double bass, he caresses it) and Rhan Wilson, percussionist extraordinaire. What great fun we had. Thanks Patrick and Faith. Come around again!
Aloha nui loa, Julie

I wish I could have been at the performance at the San Leandro Main Library, but I was able to attend the performance in Felton. Don Quixote's was pretty well packed. They were bringing in chairs from the other parts of the restaurant. What a night of great music. Faith has such a beautiful voice. Kumu Patrick is not bad either. We did see someone's derier zipping around taking pictures. Julie it was a pleasure to finally meet you, too bad my wife wasn't thereto meet you too. Aloha, Les |
