Aloha, does anyone have the name of a good source of OOP and hard to find Hawaiian CDs, besides ebay? I hear songs on Internet radio stations and then try to buy the music, but some albums are OOP. Most on-line stores like Mele.com and Amazon, do not carry older albums. Any kokua would be great.
Mahalo,
Joe

I've heard Harry's Music is a good place to inquire about OOP music stuff. Contact Harry's Music at (808) 735-2866.

Good luck!

Harry's Music (O`ahu) is a great source for sheet music, but they do not carry used CDs/vinyls. I've had great luck at Jelly's Music in `Aiea (most vinyls at $4-$10; used CDs at $3-$5), and Bailey's Antiques on Kapahulu has a huuuuuge selection of vinyls (in varying types of condition, however).

A great online source for CDs and vinyls is www.gemm.com -- vendors and private sellers from all over the world. Another source -- if you're desperate to get a specific vinyl and can't find it anywhere else -- is www.hakushouse.com (sky high pricing; buyer beware!).

Once a recording goes "out of print", it is no longer made available to retailers from the usual distribution sources. But check www.cdbaby.com -- many titles are available directly from the musician, even after the distributor has dropped it. If the musician or group has a website, check that for product too...
