I heard an interesting interview this morning on AM940 with Eddie and Myrna Kamae along with George Kuo. The subject was the documentaries that they produce. The most recent release is about the history of slack key and the musicians involved. The broadcast will replay on am940.com this evening. It is also available on http://www.naoiwiolino.com/ Additional information on the DVD release of the documentary can be found here on the Kamae's site http://www.hawaiianlegacy.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=18&Itemid=12 Interesting stuff. Or, if possible, buy it direct from Uncle Eddie at a performance. Last year at this time he was playing Fridays at the Honolulu Elks club, with Analu Aina and Mike Kaawa. They may still be there, on Sunday afternoons at Honeys in the Ko`olau Golf Course. Ya don't hafta golf to eat & listen. Double check with the venues to see if my year-old info is still correct.
