Slipry1 know of the Twin Cities. Check in your area for "Hula Schools" or "Halau". Check for Hawaiian restaurants. Also cultural organizations and clubs. Here in Seattle, the UW has a Hawaiian Club on campus. Check the message boards at music stores, heck, it don't hurt to post your interest in Hawaiian music. Keep turning the rocks over. Something will turn up.

I escaped from Minneapolis in '65, never to go back. The folks were in LA. I was an old time banjo nut in those days, so i am no help about Hawaiian music there.
