Anyone going to Keola's gig at Montalvo in Saratoga on March 28? It would be nice to socialize. Shame on me, I have not ordered my TaroPatch buttons, that would be a good place to wear them... Aloha, Julie

I don't think I will make it -- BTW FYI, etc etc -- Neil Hogan is sponsoring a Keola workshop in Los Gatos the day after the concert?

Call Los Gatos Guitar Gallery -- if you don't get through try Los Gatos Guitar Hospital and ask them if they can transfer you downstairs. Neil Hogan is coordinator. I think he is trying for 20 students, $50 @ - Keola is supposed to go over "one or two tunings" and hand out a couple of new songs - time for Q & A Supposed to be a few opennings left. |

I believe the shop is now called Joplin and Sweeney. I don't have too much other info... Maybe there is something on Keola's website: kbeamer.com. Julie |

| I REALLY want to go to the workshop tonight and no one has called me back for a week from Joplin & Sweeney. I've left lots of messages there... I'm just takin' a chance here that someone could throw me some specific location info real quick and I'll just go and hope it is not sold out... please email via taropatch.net if you know where and when it is. |

Mahalo for the link, Craig! I had actually found that link, but it gives no workshop info, nor could I raise a human at that #. So I just went there and waited til I found someone with info, but not until after I called everyone local I could think of from taropatch.net. Thanks for putting up with my spontaneousness, everyone!
Keola's workshop was great fun! Keola is so nice & patient and such an awesome guitarist! He gave out the tabs: Kolowaka & Manu Kai in taro patch, Hana Ki ho'alu and Wa'apa in double slack, Holo Wa'a Paa in C wahine and A Grandmother's Wish in Bflat wahine. That'll keep me busy for awhile...

Aloha Stacey, I had to work late (in San Jose) and stayed at a Hotel in Milpitas last night. You have nOOOOO idea how difficult it was not to get into my car and holoholo down into Los Gatos, knowing that Keola was there... Ah, I sure do enjoy his music. Larry and I took my sister and her husband to Montalvo Sundaynight. Both of them are handicapped, and I was so afraid that they wouldn't make it to Keola and Moana's set, as Neil Hogan did the first set. Usually there is some emergency with them and they dash off to home. But Sunday they lasted not only into the second set, but they actually made it through the whole concert. And Keola and Moana were so gracious, they left the CD signing line to come over to my sista and hubby to greet them. It meant so much to me.
Now I'm scheming on getting to Sebastopol for the next concert, as I have to be in Windsor for a day anyway. Anyone going to the Sebastopol gig?
Hugs, Julie |
