Aloha Auntie Maria - Thanks for letting people know about the steel guitar forum site. Steel guitars are a very wide field - ranging from Nashville and Country Western pedal steel, to Bluegrass and Dobros and even the term Hawaiian lap steel can refer to several dozen kinds of instruments many of them with 8 or 10 strings - several hundred different tunings, and much of it has nothing to do with slack key. I have run across very few people who simply like to play Hawaiian slack key style music on a taro patch tuned acoustic steel guitar. This is why I hang out on Andy's forum rather than the others. Andy, please let me know if I am hogging your bandwidth or detracting from your excellent forum. I am really looking forward to meeting some of these people at George Kahumoku's Workshop this June. -Konabob
Adam, If you are referring to the one run by the Hawaii Steel Guitar Assn. I just went to http://lava.net/~hsga/forum/forum.html and it seems to be working.

No way konabob! Sometimes I incorrectly tell people this site is about slack key guitar but really it is more. It's about Hawaiian music and musicians and fans of it all. Hawaiian steel guitar fits right in. In fact, after reading the recent posts and about Julie's new guitar, I was totally getting tempted to try playing steel!
