Hey Maggie! I just got home from a party where I was invited to play bass for Pekelo Day and his Halau. When Pekelo saw my bass, he said; "Oh, I know several people who play that kind of bass". It took me a few minutes, then I figured out who he was talking about!

Aloha,
-Konabob

Eh, Kona Bob! We met bout tree times: 2005, 2006, and 2008 (heck, I makule; forget when and where). You wen show me and wen let me futz with your "stick-bass". Because Retro and Guave bass players (I futz with Po Mahina baritone ukulele and slack-key guitar), and they curious bout your stick, why not ship one (da guys can pay da freight) to dem 2 guys fo try-em & comment!?!

Common sense: they goin show em off and play em on stage; den you get sales!?!

I just finished a dozen new koa Walkingbasses, and I am going to be bringing some of them to California in October. I will have them with me at Cerritos, ( http://www.ukulelefestival.org/ ) on October 4th. I will be backing up Dominator. Then my wife and I are going up to the Wine Country Uke Fest ( http://www.winecountryukefest.com ) with the basses I have left. Looking forward to playing with Robyn Mahealani and Mark Nelson.
I hope I get a chance to meet some of you from TaroPatch!

Wish I had the time to continue the trip on up into Oregon and Washington... maybe next year.
Aloha,
-Konabob

Aloha Konabob!

Yup, Pekelo told me he jammed with you! Small world. You can't imagine how many places my Walkingstick bass has been in the past year! It's been a blast playing it and a main staple in our Hawaiian music community for so many events. Mahalo for opening up the door for me with this fabulous instrument. I am loving it!

Hope you come to Oregon one of these days, ok?

Aloha,
Maggie
