When you catch Manny Ramirez looking at a called strike low and outside curveball after swinging and missing at two high fastballs. Now that's a perfect pitch!

Perfect or relative pitch, Alika? There is a big difference.
If you are able to identify a single random note on the piano, blindfolded, you have perfect pitch. If you are able to tell the interval of 2 notes, but you do not know the specific notes, you have relative pitch.
If you hear a piece of music on the radio, can you tell what key it is just by ear? Perfect. If you fart and can identify the pitch without the aid of a tuning fork, that is perfect pitch. If you can identify the pitch of a passing airplane, and calculate the doppler effect of both notes and state the pitch the pilot hears, you are perfect. If you can hear the difference between a maj, min, dim, aug or any other types of chords, it is relative pitch unless you can tell exactly what chord and what notes are in the chord.
Here is the kicker. More then 95% of us have perfect pitch but don't know it and can't use it for all intents and purposes.

There was very succesful octet that played accordian, ukulele, kazoo, bagpipe, banjo, recorder, jaw harp and dijouridou. Who had perfect pitch? Obviously, their agent!

Stay Tuned...

I just received my new ukulele yesterday and I'm ready to start learning right away. I purchased the Keoki DVD, and will be searching for the other tools mentioned to expand my abilities. I was excited to go to the Twinsburg library for the language class but couldn't make it due to my pick up at UPS.
