Aloha Braddah Jay,

Thanks so much for letting us know! Would have been a HUGE BUMMER if we got down there and they didn't come. Good idea, I'll call Moana Terrace and check in.

The name of the lounge that they play at is called Moana Terrace at the Waikiki Marriott. For free. Just buy some drinks or kaukau. For FREE!!!!! Martin singin. FOR FREE. Bobby playing steel FOR FREE. George with da kiho`alu. FOR FREE. and Aaron telling the story behind da mele -- FOR FREE.

Watching these guys together is just about as good as it can get.

If you can get Martin to sing Pu`uanahulu or Pua Lilia, you are going to be crying in your beer. Sweet.

Bobby likes the old steel guitars best. That's the one he keeps seven strings on.

We're hoping to go see Bobby, Martin, George, and Aaron tomorrow night at the Marriott's Moana Terrace if we can muster up the energy. Been a CRAZY week, must be the full moon!

Purportedly, the only 8 string Fry-Pan ever made was a custom one-off for David Kelii.

There are, of course, the 8 string frypans made for Jerry Byrd by Shot Jackson back in the 7 0's, and also by Excel. I have one and so does Owana Salazar, among others.

My bad, I meant to/should have said 'Rickenbacher', as I don't consider anything else an FP, even tho the repros can be good.
I've always wondered what happened to David's FP8.
Bobby once owned David's Epiphone 6 string that was used during the early Hawaii Calls years w/Hilo Hattie. He got it for $60(!) and inside the PU cavity was David's signature(!!) in pencil.

Belated reply to this topic, but Bobby's Rick frypan is a seven string, which is one of the Ricks I modified for him from a six. He now has a long scale and a short scale. That one appears to be the short one.
