Aloha e kakou, I won a Kala Teme-3 Uke at the Ukulele Festival, Maui last week. Cheee! (Curly koa wood, I think)
So, can anyone tell me what I have? I hardly know a thing about ukes, tho' I attend Santa Cruz Uke Club meetings occasionally. My former uke is an ABC discount store special!
Of course, now I have to learn how to tune and play it...got any ideas about that too? Mahalo nui, honugal aka Karen

Aloha e Wanda! Pehea 'oe? I'm learning as I go here. I guess it is exotic flamed mahogany, not koa, and it has a built-in tuner. I just posted a video on FB with the donor demonstrating it on youtube. Has a great sound! Now I gotta get busy and learn to play it! Also, look at my FB photo album of it, if you like :) Aloha nui, Karen |

I saw it on Facebook!!!! It is a very lovely instrument and it sure sounds swell the way Music Guy Mic plays it! Way cool it has the electronics in it so you can be plugged and play at a kanikapila and be heard! He is a good guy to patronize and he sure does support various causes by donating instruments. Paul's `ukulele is from him also, as Paul also won his instrument in a drawing on a different music forum. And Keonepax came all the way from Japan and bought a GORGEOUS instrument from him, too.
I know in your neck of the woods you will find plenty folks who can help you out and teach you and you'll have plenty folks to kanikapila with! Woo-hoo! |
