Well, I just figured with such illustrious musicians that someone would be bound to have filmed it. I mean, if someone tapes Makana playing blindfolded, surely someone would tape you guys. I might find something on my searches through You Tube. One never knows does one.

And and, it wasn't a MEAN stink eye, just a friendly kine stink eye.

No, what I am saying is that I was hoping if someone would video the Makana "stunt", that surely someone would video some good and real music like Kory, Jack & Gary.

Why did he want to play blindfolded? Does he think Ray Charles, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Shawn Ishimoto, Doc Watson et al,did not want to see? For them, it was/is a fact of life they learned to deal with. For Makana, it's cheap theatrics. If he wants to show his ability, that's one thing. And he has a lot of that, when he cares to show it. Smoke and mirrors ain't music. He insults his kumu with this.

I believe I saw a videocam in the audience. Retro, alas, was not with us. Just me, thumbs and falsetto2002. I'll ask around among my friends in Bellingham.

Eh Jack, you need to be careful about how you use the word "alas" around here because it could have a totally different connotation for local people from Hawai'i whose paniolos, by the way, also eat mountain oysters. And from that perspective, I might think you were assigning Retro a new nickname.

Balls to that, I say!

So what you're saying is, Kory, Jack and Gary Medeiros, with Retro on bass, should all play blindfolded from now on. Brilliant idea. That Youtube video would go viral overnight.

Nah nah nah...better anyone who views any YouTube video in which I appear ought to be the one blindfolded. Especially when I dance hula.
