PAKELE LIVE! WITH TONY SOLIS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 14, 2011

Pakele Live! Brings Hawai’i Musicians Together
To Support Japan Earthquake & Tsunami Victims

HONOLULU – The popular weekly Hawaiian music series Pakele Live! with Tony Solis, in conjunction with the Pakele Foundation®, is hosting a month-long series of benefit concerts to aid victims of the recent devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The concerts will take place beginning at 6 p.m. each Thursday from March 17 through April 14 at the Willows Restaurant, and will feature a wide variety of Hawai’i’s musicians.

“Hawai’i and Japan have such a close connection,” said Pali Ka’aihue, creator of the Pakele Live! series and Vice President of the Hawai’i Academy of Recording Arts (HARA). “The people of Japan have always been so supportive, not only of our music, but of our hula, language and culture as well. Pakele Live! has a number of loyal viewers in Japan, and we wanted to do whatever we could to help the people there. We’re very moved by the immediate outpouring of support from the Hawai’i music community in response to our call to action.”

The March 17 concert will feature:
• Natalie Ai Kamauu
• Walt Keale
• Ku’uipo Kumukahi
• Kenneth Makuakane

(Lineups for the remaining concerts are being finalized and will be announced soon.)

Those who are unable to attend can watch the live stream of each show at www.pakelelive.com. Each show will also be edited for television and shown at a later date on OC16 TV and www.oc16.tv)
