Check out this youtube link:

Celina Gutierrez sings the song "Lovely Lanikai", a song she wrote while visiting Lanikai Beach on Oahu.

She asked my wife Denise to choreograph and perform a hula to go along with the song. After getting permission from her Kumu Hula to do it, this it what Denise came up with.

Also check out Celina's website at:

www.celinasongs.com

There is a sound clip of me playing "Lovely Lanikai" on our local Hawaiian Radio Statio KAPU-lp, 104.7 FM. www.kapu.org on Celina's website.

Kalae Miles is also doing "Lovely Lanikai" on his new CD coming out the end of April. You can see his version on youtube.

Aloha e Norm,
Mahalo for the email with the link! You have every right to be proud...

Saw Kalae (and Stephen and Buck and Nathaniel) perform "Lovely Lanikai" at Pakele a few weeks ago - you were watching online, yeh? Thought I heard Wade say your name (ooo! surprise!)... (For those reading this in the Santa Cruz area, Kalae will be opening for S&S - Stephen Inglis and Shawn Livingston Moseley - plus Cindy Combs, at Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz on May 4. Tix are $22 advance, $20 door. Call (831) 427-2227.)

Looking forward to seeing you and Denise when you come over. If you don't go to that other concert, come to Pakele that Thursday and I'll introduce you to Wade - then he can put a face to the name he reads off every week!

Malama pono,

Lynn

But that first wave is so distracting- too bad the water is so cold in Santa Cruz! Although my brother used to surf there when he went to UCSC.

Really, though- very nice!

Denise is as beautiful and lovely as the song, but why she no ask me to dance too? I was free that day.

Hey Norm, very cool YouTube links to that very lovely "Lovely Lanikai" song, but you seem to have left one out, and I was wondering if you did so on purpose, or what?

It's actually quite good...and quite funny too...

Were you there somewhere hiding behind the camera?

Ed, I just didn't think to put it in. Rhan and Celina are two of the most talented people around the Santa Cruz area. And no, I wasn't at the filming. Rhan and Celina didn't want too many distractions. Seeing the final product without seeing the work that went into doing it and editing it actually has more impact with me.
