I read with great interest that the final ballots for this year's Na Hoku awards were sent out to voting members on this past Friday. I think the award show will be June 9.
Here is a link to pictures from the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Awards. I would ask for assistance from those in the know, maybe to tell us who is who. The pictures are not captioned and I sure would like to know who is whom.

Thanks, Auntie Maria. Yes, I believe that must be a son of that CUTE Ocean Kaowili. You mean he's got a wife? And keiki? Shootz! Oh, oh, wait a minute, so do I, I mean a husband and keiki. OK and phooey.
Plenty of wonderful music was generated this past year. Many deserving artists, haku mele, technical folks worked very hard to give us the opportunity to partake in such a wide and great variety of music. Mahalo to them all.

Thanks so much for the info. For those of us who do not live on the islands (yet!) it is almost impossible to keep up with folks and their names. Like, what is Kapono Beamer's son's name, and his lovely wife? We got to meet them in Keahou in February, but I'll be darned if I can remember their names at this moment. They are in a couple of the photos. Grrr, it's tough growing old!
