From 1986 -- a wonderful mo`olelo of Milol`i -- the last fishing village in Hawai`i. It not only tells of Milol`i, but it prominently features Aunty Diana Aki and tells of how the music is so interwoven into their being, as the music is the way to share the history, that the music MUST be passed down to each succeeding generation and that way these things will never die. There is some fantastic music by Diana Aki and the aunties she learned from and there is so fantastic, real old style slack key.

Please watch this video. Please.

Wanda,
Mahalo nui for bringing this wonderful film to our attention. Wow, 1986 already 26 years ago. Lucky for us people had the foresight to record and preserve forever a little slice of the way it was.
