Sorry you couldn't make it Al . . . it was an afternoon/evening you surely would have enjoyed. Nice people, a superb potlock and great music!

The next session will be our July 9th outing to Steilacoom---one of our rare public appearances.
Looking forward to hearing the details on how it went - we had a nice outdoor gig on Bainbridge today and couldn't go. |

Appearing as "Lei Mele" in Steilacoom this evening were: Jean, Glenn, Jan, Jim, Laurie, Jay, Uncle Danny and myself. Most of these guys drove an hour from the Seattle area to my hometown to share the nice music we make together. As I said earlier, it was a "rare public appearance" for us, because we usually only play for our own enjoyment. It's always a treat to hear applause and compliments on occasion!
This was a lu`au benefiting and showcasing the young dancers of Heimana. A couple of different people mentioned that the event was just like a typical local-style gathering in Hawai`i . . . endless ono food, great dancing (including audience participation), nahenahe music, and lots of aloha.

Please don't forget that this'll be a special/bonus kani-ka-Saturday at the usual place in Bellevue.
Join us for nice music, good food, and a reasonable amount of fun!

Aloha y'all...due to a fine collection of conflicts, the 1st August kani (13th) is cancelled. The 1st one in September is in limbo...it may turn into a concert. The 1st one in October is out, too....whaddya think of switching to 1st & 3rd Saturdays for the rest of the year (starting September)?

First Saturdays might work nicely for me, since I'll already be in the neighborhood doing the radio show. Now...connecting up to get Momi there is a different matter altogether... |

Yup, gonna do it...'regular' 2nd kani this month (27th), then 1st & 3rd Saturdays for the rest of the year. I hope that'll confuse the conflicts so they can't find me, but no promises <G> |
