Aloha kakou. Buck Mueller here from Eugene ... my wife Karen and I are coming up to Seattle and should be around Sept. 17 to kanikapila! Greg & Lori directed me to this forum, and we also know Pekelo P and probably have met others in your circle over the years. We are long-time Hawaiiana lovers, musicians, haumana hula, and frequent Hawai'i malahini. So ... can we come? Can someone give us directions? Mahalo nui!

Heh-heh-heh...notice I didn't say WHO would send him the directions, only that we'd make sure he got 'em. My work is done.

And for those of you who will meet Buck at the kani that day, you will dig him. We met him through Patrick Landeza (where some of you first met him as well), he's part of the Eugene (Oregon) Hawaiian music mafia, and has also performed at the Kalama festival.

...and, darn it, we can't be there that day, as I'm involved in radio-theatre performance/recordings that entire weekend. So take good care of Buck and Karen for us, wouldja?

Eh, Buck! Howzit? Unfortunately, I'll be in Tucson (or Silver City NM) on the 17th. To all my fellow Seattle kani pals - Buck is a great guy who played with Maggie Matoba, Chico Schwall, and Iwalani at Kalama a few years ago. Good picker, too.

OK Double-checking! So first and third Saturdays from now on? If we go to Seattle to check on our Tacoma house on October 1, should I plan on a detour to Hale Neeej for music and merriment?

The Julie and Larry Show

Don't think Larry will bring his upright bass, though. Tough to get into the overhead...

Not only that, but there MAY be a special guest visitor that afternoon, and certainly that evening...

Aloha kakou. Thanks to Jean for hosting the kanikapila last Saturday, and great to see the old folks and meet some new folks. Karen & I thoroughly enjoyed. Maika'i!

For some reason, I recently checked to see when I first started hanging out with this amazing kanikapila group . . . turns out it'll be 6 years come February.

And the great music just never ends.

Mahalo, as always, Jean & friends!

Don, if I'm not mistaken, we got to meet you because of Patrick, Susie, and all the other Hawaiian Music Institute folks. Another reason for me to be grateful for all of them/you.
