Long time I nevah wen to da lo'i. Das cause firs we wen Honduras, den we wen move Florida- stay some hot hea but I unnahstan da wintas stay a lilbit mo bettah den Michigan. Anyways da wahine one achual doctah now an dis was da bes job. Nomo residency on da Big Island...
But da reason I stay write is cause of da wala'au bout dat Tongan family an da horse- dat wen remin me of da story of one Waipi'o horse wid da unfortunate name of Gingah.
Now dis horse Gingah was one expert wid da fence. Da buggah she go undah, ovah, or through any kine. Undahstan, we get plenny horse run loose in Waipi'o, trash da lo'i an eat da garden. But dis one had one special talent.
Well, one day dis vegetarian hippy guy wen shot da horse, den wen emu da buggah wid plenny of gingah fo flavor. Not da whole horse- dey wen make smoke meat too, plenny gingah in da marinade (he had some help wid dis, cause one neighbor get idea, see...) Den dese guys, dey invite all da neighbors, eberyone whose garden wen get ate or lo'i trampled by dis leo, fo come to da luau- and some plenny wen show up, fo eat dis pain in da okole horse. Plenny was vegetarian, too, but dat nevah stop um from grine on dis horse dey all hated. Big party, an ono da meat! Fat, da buggah, an so sweet, wen was fed by your farm...
Den dis one neighbor, who like make smoke meat, he wen go make one present to da onah of da horse. "Oh", da onah say, "dis da mos ono smoke pipi I wen try!" "Mus be da Gingah", says da neighbor...

We had good eats on O`ahu.
Whenever I got sowah tummy from eating all those pills I have eto take for breakfast, I found the cure for me. Saimin at Zippy's made it all better. Some magic, I know, but it really, truly helped me settle my digestive woes on more than one occasion.
Teri beef bun and saimin. Little did I know that a teri beef bun was as big as a normal dinner plate. Hoh - da ono.

Oh, Petah. Procedure not until next Monday 8/31. I went for pre-admission testing today. That was the easy part. But I thank you for your kind wishes. Until the surgery, salt is OK because it raises the BP enough to keep blood flowing past the narrowed carotid artery so I don't turn into a dizzy dame.
Can you believe this is the only photo I have of my hero Peter? He musta turned his head just as the button was pushed. Still handsome, yeah?
