You Tube. Week of 18 Jul 2010

Starting off the morning with my boys, Ke Kani Nahe, singing a rousing version of Hula of Makee. Wow, Dukie can sing ‘em and Shawn, listen to the lead guitar – spectacular. Sam on bass and Derek on 12-string makes this something special. I am so proud of them! Do you think I am biased? Darn tootin’. So what. My list. I mua!

Aloha Aunty,

Richard Kauhi was a Hawaiian music pioneer in terms of his jazz approach to Hawaiian music. The Richard Kauhi trio were known for their 4 part harmonies. He heavily influenced such people as Buddy Fo and the Invitatios, Brickwood Galuteri and others. Mahalo, Unko Rob. I was very taken by these two videos of Richard Kauhi. What a beautiful voice.

Weird thing the new upcoming Hawai`i 5-0 going have a woman play the part of Kono.
