| Yep, I saw that kim chee show. I also saw one nodda show, now I cannot remember which it was, maybe Jeff Corwin, for making nuoc mam or whatever the Thai guys call fish sauce and how it is made. I had no idea the fish ferments for so long. Would that be like oyster sauce what I use for Chinese cooking? |

Sad Duke like go. I unnahstan wea he stay come from, but dere still stay plenny peopo hea dat tink Gabby da one, an no like hapa kine. Onli reason I stay hea is cause I like one taste of da Islan, an Duke wen give plenny o'dat. Onli hope no oddah braddas like go jus cause some peopo no undahstan da issues Kanaka Maoli get wi da cultural plagiarism. If all da local braddahs goine go, den no moa reason foa me to visit.
Annyways, da good ting is I goine fly Big Islan tomorrow foa see my o'hana- only one week, but mo bettah den no ting!

Hey, dat look ono but my dahtah wen make me one birtday dinnah stay moa ono- kalua, laulau, bakalau salad wid hoi'o, poi, pork an peas- all kine ono grines I nevah get mainlan. Den durian, rambutan, beriba, an all kine oddah ono fruits fo dessert. But dat was da day befoa my birtday, cause I wen back mainlan on da birtday. Sad dat. Wen go see all da family an frens cause da doctor wen tell me no can fly. So I figgah mo bettah go now, while still can, doctah's ordahs or no. Some hard foa hele mainlan side wen I nevah know if goine see da ohana again. But get wife an new baby hea so had to come back.
Now Rosalind wen wake up so I gotta go...

| OK. Nodda tread. Coming up Easter. Are any kaukau traditions in Hawai`i foa Easter? Paul's family used to make lasagne or ravioli. Paul's mama (now in heaven) liked to make cookies called pastorelli (I called dog biscuit cookies) and an easter bread, sweet dough with eggs twisted up in the braid -- very dry, dry, dry. My family like ham for easter, and pretty desserts. Some peepo like leg o lamb. You guys get da turkey tails again? Gotta have some kine jello thing. |
